Hitman Agent 47:
Four words at the top
‘Your Number is up’ refers to both the assassination meaning of soon to be
eliminated, and more specifically related to agent 47 and his endeavors with
being caught and facing supposed life threatening issues.
The background is
very consistent of guns (rifles), attack helicopters, laser pointers which is
very common with action movies as it clearly presence action.
The ‘Hero’ or
protagonist being in the center of the poster is also conventional to action
movies as an action film doesn’t have much of a narrative, most of it will be
based on the protagonist which is why the ‘hero’ is usually center of the
poster.
The general colour
scheme of the poster is pale/dark blue’s, grey’s and black borders
The title is all
bold, with a metallic texture like his traditional silver ballers, the font is
also of a military/secret service font, presenting the idea of him being a
classified ‘problem’ for the government.
This poster also uses the golden rule by having the more vibrant and eye catching colours at the mid so then the viewers eyes will then trace down to the main part of the poster being the ‘Agent’ and the title.
Annabelle:
As per traditional
horror posters the main colour scheme is black and red, due to black presenting
a mysterious and enigmatic presence coupled with the red accents in the poster
to present danger and death. The font is an old traditional font used in the
early 1900’s and is traditional with many older based horror narratives.
The black colour of
the screen is also very invasive and is swarming most of the poster suggesting
to the audience that there will be a mysterious and deadly presence in the
film.
They have also
followed the golden rule by using the brighter, more visual colours in the
middle with the only object or ‘thing’ in the middle drawing people’s attention
to it and then to the very bold, crimson red title.
They have also like
many other horror film advertisement include another film that has been made by
the same company and/or producers so that people will less reluctant to judge
it by its
cover.
We're the Millers
This poster has the four main characters in the middle clearly showing what the film is about as the title directly pairs with the picture of the 'Millers'.
The use of the big bold arrows pointing to the each person labeling what they really are is used for a comical touch and clearly showing the audience that for obvious reasons that they are not your typical family.
They have also included two names of two of the characters which is meant to help boost peoples opinion of the film and its quality as they are fairly well known names in the movie/TV industry, (used to boost audience's initial view on the film)
Light blue background used give a more subtle family friendly background for the film poster which is then subverted by the use of the arrows showing what they actually are.
