Teaser trailers and theatrical trailers

Differences between teaser trailers and theatrical trailers
  • Teaser trailers usually last for about a minute and a half, theatricals last usually about two and a half minutes
  • Teaser trailers tend not to reveal much about the plot and have a restricted narrative to "tease" the audience whereas theatrical trailers tend to show the plot of the film
  • Theatrical trailers are shown nearer to the release of the film whereas teasers are shown when the first pieces of information are released about the film
  • Teaser trailers usually say a season of which the film is out e.g. "This spring" whereas theatrical trailers could give a month or even a day
  • In teaser trailers the main actors and director is shown at the beginning to get the audiences attention if a famous actor is involved
