Deconstruction of Music in trailer 'Legend'

In the duration of this trailer there is a variety of different music uses at different times and stages, which is why I have decided to deconstruct the music used within this trailer.

At the start of the trailer it starts with an introductory standard of music, with the bold guitar strum every half a second accompanied with the same timeline with a drum bass. This is used to 'kick-off' the trailer as used in many other trailers, and helps set the theme of action.

Then at this point further in the music starts to become more of a continues guitar strum which build the momentum for the trailer as it starts to build.

Then further through the trailer the music starts to change with emphasizing parts of the music on the more substantial parts of the trailer, basically a mach on action on shots with action as this movie is part action.

Then however the music stops at humorous, substantial or important parts with specific speech, so that it draws full emphasis of the shot and that it draws most of its attention to it.

Then at about half way through the trailer their is the climax or peak in the film were more substantial things happen, such as more action and story reveal. This is emphasized using music as it changes to a more up beat action but darker tone to present the idea of the darker action part.

Then as we get to the end of the trailer the music changes again, however this time it subverts common media images as it becomes a more cheerful and happier note.

To conclude I think that this trailers use of music was very effective as it portrays the story through the music and its changes correspond with the physical shots very well. For our trailer I would like to try to make a similar use of our music in order to present the genre and the mood of each scene to the audience.
