The big short movie website was basic yet effective. The genre is clear as there is dollars falling down the side of the background, which is underwater which could imply that they are flooded with money. The video is placed in the centre below the title which uses both white and yellow text with a month of release. The actors names are placed at the top above the water, which could show that they are floating on bundles of money.
The genre isn't shown by the website itself, but as it includes Will Ferrell, people will automatically assume it is a comedy as he is a very well known actor and only takes part in comedies. Mark Wahlberg has made appearances in comedies also. At the top of the website, it shows the release date at Christmas, above the tagline "CHOOSE YOUR DADDY", which directly addresses the audience. To support making this choice, the background is split in two showing both of the options with the actors name by it. The colour scheme is predominantly white and red, which are common colour conventions of comedies.
