Filming Evaluation: 10/11/2015
On this day the aim of the filming session was to film a couple of shots to add the final collection of shots that we had. For what we needed to portray in the film we were able to use our school areas as with the right framing didn't look like the shots took place in a school.
The first shot we did was a walking shot from the feet up to the middle of the thigh. This was to mirror our previous walking shot that we took in London to represent how our character has gone from great to bad through the course of the film.
PICTURE
We took this shot numerous times to get the right framing and steadiness of the shot its self as it was difficult for the cameraman to hold the camera still while pivoting. But after a number of shots we got the desired shot we were after.
The next shot we filmed was a walking shot through a dark alley way. Again, we had to shot this a couple of times to get the right lighting and also find the best camera angle to film this shot in. After experimenting with different angles and lighting we produced two different shots that we may use in our trailer depending on which best fits.
One was were our character walks into and out of the shot with a mid shot and fairly good lighting which we were quite happy about with the way it looked on camera. The other was a long shot down the alley way with darker lighting and out character is seen just walking up the alley towards the camera which also looked good. But, as I said before, the one we will use will decide how well each of them fits in out trailer.
The last shot we filmed was a drag shot of out character being dragged down the alley way into the dark part of the alley. For this is was only filmed as a long shot as we didn't want the draggers face to be explicitly seen because we hadn't planned to show that. We tried a shot were the camera stood still and the character was dragged down the alley way into the darkness. Then we tried one where the camera started to slowly follow the person being dragged to see if it look better and more professional.
After comparing the two we all agreed the last shot where the camera was following the character being dragged looked the best and would fit best in our trailer. Also you couldn't explicitly see the draggers face which was an added bonus.
