During this trailer there is an array of sound effects used to help portray the narrative, genre and other aspects of the trailer, and because sound effects can make a rather substantial difference in trailers I thought it beneficial to deconstruct it.

As per most action crime trailers, the starting music consists of a subtle and gentle tune which sets the impression that everything is fine and as it should be (equilibrium).

Then with this shot there is a police officer that is in the middle of a crowed looking suspicious and out of place, as this happens the music drops and all sound effects dull, with the subtle addition of a ambient tone to further set the scene.

This shot has the combination of multiple sounds, with the music playing in the background, and the explosion of the tower. However, during this scene the decibel level of the music is lowered and the explosion is increased to maximise the impact of the explosion on the audience to give them a slight feeling of what its like for the characters in the movie.

Then we have further action packed shots of more explosions sound effects, racing helicopters and all sound subtly fading out for the end point.

At this ending point there is many sound effects under the music, the impact of the steel of the helicopter, the glass shattering the explosion from the RPG and the wind catching the propellers and they slow down making a fast decent sound.
To conclude, this trailer was jam packed with sound effects, mainly because of its action genre, making it almost compulsory for the his impact sound effects for action enthusiasts within the audience. However, it has shown that there can be many subtle sounds under the music that create further effects upon the shots that are less noticeable but still have an impact.
