Practical: Film Poster Evaluation
To edit our film poster we used Photoshop. This is very effective in enhancing our poster because it is easy to use and the computer graphics are effective in advancing the quality of our product.
- My first part of the editing technique was to insert a tagline onto our poster. We did this by inserting a text box from the option menu on the left side and writing in our chosen phrase which was "From Innocents to Guilt and Everything Inbetween". This links to our genre of an urban crime drama because it highlights the corruption and success of business.
- We then placed the tagline directly above the title in the lower third of the frame.
- We also decided to change the colour of the silhouette's blazer in the poster using Photoshop. This was achieved by making the blazer a separate layer and changing the contrast to a dark blue tone.
- In order to make it stand out more we increased the brightness setting as well, shown from the second screenshot. We did this by selecting the chosen layer and choosing the adjustment in the right hand side of the screen to make the brightness higher or lower. This proved to be successful because it was easy to change and made our final product look more professional.
- In order to emphasize the illusion of a silhouette in our poster we tried adding to the brightness of the collar. We mad the colour brighter by clicking on the selected layer and choosing the adjustment that added to the brightness and changed the volume of brightness by increasing it, as shown in the second screenshot.
- This looked professional as it conformed to the genre of our product by emphasizing the idea that our character is in a suit which is key iconography for urban dramas.
