Title Changes:
As part of our improvements from our first draft we had to change the titles in our teaser trailer to add to the narrative and make it more explicit. We have used titles to show the narrative as it conforms to conventions of teaser trailers as our footage consists of cross cuts with no chronological order.
- Our original titles were "But when reality hits" and "It hits hard". From our feedback from draft one the titles needed changing because the text didn't represent the narrative in enough detail and the message it sent about the narrative was subjective because we wanted to show that the reality of the business of the business world is corrupt and improper.
- In order to make an improvement to our trailer we would need to replace these titles with something more explicit and meaningful to engage the audience and conform more to our plot and genre.
- Our new titles were inspired by an Icarus metaphor suggesting that being tempted into corruption would have its flaws and eventual punishment as our title quotes "But fly too close to the sun and you'll get burnt". This was an improvement on our previous titles because it sends a more explicit message to the audience that temptation isn't always a good thing.
- Our last title was also improved as our feedback from draft one was to represent the narrative with more detail to tell people what the plot of the story is. We achieved this by using the title "One man's struggle to overcome corruption in the system" which suggests that our plot is about a character faced with the dark side of business and his mission of changing it. This is an improvement on our previous title because we have decoded the narrative through the use of titles and the trailer is now more able to engage it's chosen target audience.
