Website Editing 02/02/16
Having had final feedback from our teacher, it was decided that some of the positioning and sizing of certain elements of the website needed to be altered.
Firstly, I started with the social media text boxes as the positioning and sizing that they were were not aesthetically pleasing and needed to be moved.
I experimented with them in the top right hand corner of the website and increased the size of them to make them stand out more.
However, having previewed them being in that position I decided they looked too big and in the wrong place.
As a result I moved the social media boxes to the opposite corner and decreased the size to make them less noticeable because they were bit over powering.
But, similar to the previous position, I did not like the positioning of them in the corner because it disrupted the flowed and centralisation of the website.
Therefore, I then experimented with them at the bottom of the website below the video because it made them just noticeable enough and conformed to the centralised approached our website takes.
After re-sizing them I was happy with where they were now positioned and the sizing was big enough for them to big noticed but not to big that they took the focus away from the main website features.
Having sorted out the social media box, I noticed that the tagline of our film was not noticeable enough in the position it was below the video at the bottom of the website.
To improve this I decided to rearrange the tagline and home buttons and swap them around to see if they made any positive difference.
With this move it proved to be successful as now our tagline was now clearly a main focus point in the trailer the home tabs were still easily visible in the new position that they are now placed.
Evaluation
- The social media icons are now in a better position to the focus of the website is on the trailer, tagline and background.
- Now on devices other than macs, the page positioning and sizing is now the same as on a mac so users do not have to scroll down which was a problem before.
- The website looks more professional and aesthetic.
