Typography test

I started off by having "BANK" written with a simple font over a white background in Photoshop.

I then used the magic wand tool to select the text, and then used condensed the selection in the select footer so that it made a selection of the text, but thinner.

I then inverted my selection, and deleted the outside of the text, but this left it rough, and not effective as a text.

I then tried something different, I rasterised the layer so that I could liquefy it, and I had an attempt to make some of the letters look like famous buildings, the only successful one was turning the "A" into the Eiffel Tower. Our trailer is set in London and so this would not work.

I found the Bank underground sign on Google images to test out with, I put it into Photoshop.

I started by selecting the text with the quick selection tool, cutting it to create a new layer for the text, and then used the healing brush behind it to make sure that the blue behind looked smooth as it had a white outline from where the text was removed.

I then selected the red part of the sign, the blue part, and the background and made separate layers for each of them. After this I adjusted the brightness, contrast and saturation appropriately for each layer.

I found that this as a title wouldn't be effective as our main colour scheme is to be black and white for the titles, and so this would contradict is as it is very high saturation. Doing this title in black and white wouldn't be effective either as it needs the colour to reinforce the fact that it is London.
