Editing the teaser trailer titles

Editing our teaser trailer titles

By Connor Taylor

During this period I went through the trailer and then started to complete some more editing for the trailer.

The first task that I needed to complete was to create a basic title format which I could use to create the rest from by duplicating it, making it an original format for efficiency.

I then before placing the titles needed to edit some of the shots that were placed in the timeline as they were either too long or in the incorrect position, and these titles portray some of the narrative and therefore need to correspond with shots.

I then quickly realized that I would need to create blank shots for the titles to go over as with them over the top of shots it looked rather unpleasant. Most trailers also use blank background on their titles shots in order to divide shots which will not match together, making it very useful for trailer structuring.

After this I then continued to change the timings on the blank shots and the titles so that they would span at about 1.30 to 2.30 seconds on average carrying on the literature on the titles.

I then further altered the timings of the shots between the title shots as some of them had too long of a duration before the next one.

I then started to change the title words themselves, after putting in the words. I then mainly focus on the typography which then was chosen which was 'Minimal' with then further alteration by changing it too an ultra thin with a slight glow in the white.

To conclude I think that this editing session was very beneficial as it started to add some structure to the trailer which would help add the rest of the shots and the music as well.
